A two-day planning workshop cum Gender and Development (GAD) orientation was conducted for the units under the Office of the Vice-President for Academic Affairs on June 29-30, 2017 at Coastal View Resort, Sto. Domingo, Albay. Aside from the BU Library System, the other units who participated were the Office of Student Affairs and Activites (OSAS), the University Health System, Office of Admissions, University Registrar's Office, and the Office of the NSTP. The topics discussed were about SUC Levelling, ISO and Accreditation requirements as well as an overview on the SPMS. A workshop on the GAD Annual Plan, revisit of each unit's Work and Financial Plan and accreditation best practices was also done.

The BU e-library system was one the focal subjects of DWZR Legazpi's radio program, "NUTRICOMNET - BCARRD" on OCtober 12, 2013. Ms. Neria Gomez, BU's University Librarian and Ms. Laila A. Belardo served as resource persons for the said radio episode. During the discussion, Ms. Gomez talked about the importance of the e-library system in bringing the BU libraries' collection, services and facilities closer to its clients through innovations in technology specifically the Internet. She, however, explained that because of the library's responsibility to honor the copyright law, there will always be some restrictions in the availability of these resources publicly online.
